I grew up in a small town in upstate New York, Monroe. I graduated from high school, and joined the Air Force. I was sent to Lackland A.F.B. In Texas for Basic Training. Then on to Shepard,Tx. For school, Air Craft mechanic reciprocating times four. The year was 1959. Upon graduation I was stationed at Plattsburgh A.F.B in Northern New York. I was working on K.C. 97 air tanker refuelers. I spent three years flying all over the North, Greenland and Canada. Then I was sent to Namao,Alberta Canada. This was a S.A.C. Site and an isolated tour, where I spent a year on alert. I was discharged honorably as Airman 1st class. By then I was married with our first son.
I was hired by our local phone company as an apprentice lineman in 1963. Through the years I worked myself up as first class lineman, installer repair man, repair supervisor and plant supervisor.
I retired after 30 years.
My wife, Sandy and I have three grown children who are married.
In 2005 my wife and I moved to Spring Hill.
