We accept donations of computers, refurbish them and re-donate them to worthy non-profit organizations; mostly Hernando County elementary schools. We accept only those machines that are capable of running Windows 10; so we take any computer that was originally designed for Windows 7 and newer. About half of the Windows Vista computers can be upgraded to Windows 10, so we will accept those too.
We have a shortage of mice and keyboards right now, so we accept any of those if they are USB devices. We also will accept any working monitor that is 17 inch and larger.
To donate a computer:
If you want us to help you reserve the data on the computer, you MUST make an appointment for our Saturday morning Hardware Clinic and see a technician.
If you do not need the data, you may stop in anytime HCC is open and ask for the Director on Duty. The DOD will accept your equipment and place it in storage to be refurbished. Please know that before any computers are refurbished, they are wiped clean of all data.
If you want to donate a computer, do not, under any circumstances leave it outside. Check the HCC Calendar for our open hours. For any clarification, please email tech@hcc.org.
